Privacy notice
Updated 8 October 2026.
Athonics Limited is responsible for the information collected through this website. Contact [email protected] with questions or requests about your information.
When you visit
Our hosting service and Cloudflare process network information, including IP addresses and requested pages, to deliver and protect the website. These technical records support operation and security.
Optional website measurement
If you allow website analytics, Google Analytics measures page visits, campaign sources, referring websites, approximate location, browser and device information. It also measures navigation, scrolling, time spent actively reading and contact clicks. It also counts successful enquiry form submissions, without the information entered in the form. Technical measurements help us find slow pages and errors. We use this information to improve the website and understand which advertising brings useful visits.
If you allow advertising measurement, the OpenAI pixel measures page visits and clicks on our email links. OpenAI can connect these events to eligible ad interactions using its click reference and browser identifiers. An email click indicates interest; it does not tell us that you sent an email.
We use consent for these optional purposes. We do not record browsing sessions, screens or keystrokes. We do not send email contents, names or email addresses as analytics events. We exclude unrelated query parameters from our Google Analytics event data.
Google and OpenAI receive the relevant measurement data and may process it outside the UK. Their terms describe the safeguards they use for international transfers. Read how Google uses information from partner sites and OpenAI's privacy policy.
Your choices and retention
Use to accept, reject or withdraw either optional purpose. Withdrawal stops future collection and removes the tracking cookies we can clear on this site. It does not automatically delete data already received by a provider. Contact us if you want to request deletion.
Our Google Analytics event retention setting is 14 months. Aggregated reports may remain available longer. Our consent choice expires after 180 days. Cookie details explain the storage used on your device.
When you contact us
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address and message, with an optional company name. Postmark delivers this information to our inbox and processes it in the United States. Its privacy policy describes its handling of personal information and international transfer safeguards. Form submissions work without analytics or advertising consent. We do not add you to a mailing list.
To prevent duplicate submissions, our server keeps a reference and a one-way fingerprint of each submission for duplicate checking, and automatically clears records older than 24 hours. It does not store the message contents. Temporary rate limits help prevent spam.
We use your email address and the information you send to respond to your enquiry and discuss work you request. This supports steps you ask us to take before a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering business correspondence. We retain correspondence while it is needed for that purpose and any applicable record-keeping obligations.
Band messaging pilot
Athonics is developing a service for bands that connect their Instagram professional account and Facebook Page. As Rome Burns is the first test case. The pilot is limited. We still need Meta approval for comment access and wider use.
When someone sends a message or leaves a comment on a connected band's account, the service can receive the text, a platform user ID, and details such as the time and public comment username. Athonics uses these details to route the conversation to the right band, prepare a reply using that band's guidance, and send questions that need a person to the band. Comment processing depends on Meta granting the required access.
To draft a reply, the service sends the band's guidance and relevant message or comment text, including recent conversation context, to Anthropic's Claude API. A band can review drafts or choose automatic replies. Replies go back through Meta's Facebook or Instagram services. The service stores conversation history, drafts awaiting review, and records of messages passed to a person.
Hosted pilot retention
The following retention periods apply to the Athonics hosted pilot at bands.athonics.com. They do not apply to As Rome Burns' separate legacy messaging service.
Each day, the hosted pilot removes conversation records and saved reply records more than 30 days after each record was created. This includes drafts still awaiting review, closed replies and messages passed to a person. New activity does not restart a record's retention period.
The daily cleanup also removes operational event references, send counts, aggregate metrics and deletion receipts older than 90 days. Temporary sign-in states expire at their set expiry time.
We keep the minimum identifiers needed to honour a "STOP" request and prevent a repeated private reply to the same comment until you ask us to delete them. We keep connected account credentials while the account remains connected.
These periods cover the hosted pilot's active data store. This cleanup does not remove copies held separately by Meta or by the provider that drafted replies, or copies in email, logs or backups. Before 8 October 2026 this was OpenAI; since then it is Anthropic.
To ask about or delete information the pilot holds about your account, email [email protected]. Tell us which band and platform you contacted, and give us your account name or link so we can find the records. Do not send a password. You can also reply "STOP" in a direct message to stop automated replies. The service keeps an opt-out identifier to honour that choice unless you ask us to remove it too. See our data request and deletion instructions.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction or deletion, restrict processing, object to processing, or request a portable copy of your information. You can withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
